Re: Thieves and the lies......[sad, if you ask me]

Allow me to start with the cables. I handed them to him [Mike] at CF'10 and he was to have them for a short stint [as in one week, just like everybody else] and then pass them on to the next person in line. Nothing more, nothing less. He kept them for quite some time and then posted his review of s...

Re: Fuck him. Truth be told.....can't hold it in any longer.

To sum it up, cables subtract and can't add. News flashes, "facts" such as there is no such thing as a system that is too bright. All opinions with no proof as an "actual" fact [but with offerings like odor and taste to boot] concerning cables. I didn't read that he said they didn't make a differen...

Re: Good Lord, you say cables don't make a difference?

Well here we go again.... let us once again clarify a few terms starting with it sounds "too bright". There is no such thing as a system that is too bright. There is or can be a system that is not producing enough of the frequencies which some will likely term "the opposite of bright". Therefore yo...

Re: BillD, a great forum member has passed away...

I learned a ton from Bill, some of it was from reading his comments, and some of it was through the many debates we had. I also learned in the non-public discussions I had with him that he was A True Gentleman and I will miss him greatly! There is one other thing I wanted to mention in a true JOKING...

Re: Ripped Audio vs. CD audio... Throwing Down the Gauntlet

Since everyone is always in agreement that our good friend Radioengineer2 knows more about these things than the rest of us I have a suggestion... Why don't we ask him why he will not use the optical output? I bet you a hundred bucks you will get a different answer than you expect, and the optical ...

Oooo It's on this year !!! I just downloaded and installed "Exact Audio Copy" and this program kicks ass !!! http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/en/ Toy Maker, you should remember the E.A.C. program has already been discussed and covered many moons ago... and it is a program that works quite well but, it'...

Re: Well.....

So, are we gonna be set up correctly this year or is there something else that needs to be done to insure an accurate test? Suggestions? You can't be serious with this question can you?? I also noted the mention of using an optical connection... Really? With all of the positives and negatives on th...

Rainwoman's cousin Jerry plays House of Blues in San Diego

Rainwoman's cousin Jerry was in concert last night at the House of Blues in San Diego Ca. for the second time. That's pretty cool for him to headline twice at such a prestigious venue to play. He said the first time he played there he was a bit nervous to see how many people would come to see him p...

Re: Cables....do they make a difference?

Yeah, brand naming is VERY important in "audiophile land": Can almost gaurentee that if "MIT cables" had chosen "MSU cables" (sorry, BillD! ) as their name that no one would have a clue who they were nor try out their cables.... I can honestly say that when it comes to cables the brand name, ...

Re: "Lossless" duplicating. Is it for real? Seriously....?

Gary, try any of the Chesky, anything from Mapleshade, any of the Clarity Records. The Reference Recordings are also well recorded. I have a Chesky where two gals are singing just a little inside the stereo mic pair image. At about the end of the song, you can hear one of them turn her head while s...

to use Kingmans line: it's all about what sounds good to you... I agree with this except..... What happens when.. thanks to a friend you suddenly realize what sounds good can actually sound great? This happens from time to time and it sounds like it's in the process of happening here when the speak...
