Re: Carver M-1.5t repair

Here is a 2-year-later update. With help of Retriever and zumbini from the other forum, I got the amp running, but it still has one problem. Optocoupler, transistor Q6 (MPS 8093) and transistor Q4 (MPS 6729) were all blown. Replaced all small electrolytic capacitors on the power supply board, replac...

Carver M-1.5t repair

Hi all, Well, I haven't been around for over 4 years on this forum, all my Carver stuff was in storage too. So I finally got room to setup my Carver / Magnepan system in the basement, and no go... C-1 works fine, M-1.5t not so much. I installed new electrolytic capacitors in the M-1.5t 9 years ago, ...

Three Carver M-400 / M-400a amplifiers for repair/parts

I guess I'll try this in the f/s forum for 'everybody'. Up for sale are two complete M-400 / M-400a amplifiers and one for parts (no transformer). All three are in non-working conditions. I used one of the transformers for my M-400t. Basically, two amps are complete, and one is for parts (has full c...

Re: Carver TFM-24 Amplifier

Haven't been to this site for a looong time. OCCD has still been clicking, and I am a happy owner of M-1.5t now. Upgraded/replaced the big electrolytic caps in it, and it sings... Which means TFM-24 is just sitting quietly in the corner. $280+shipping is the deal on this amp.

Re: Carver TFM-24 Amplifier

How do you like the Dyanco, and did you build it or buy it aready put together? I bought the Dynaco already built (vintage build, cloth-covered leads on the transformers - not sure if it really matters, in my opinion). Replaced all electrolytic caps, including a big multi-capacitor can. Replaced in...

Re: New addition to System

For those of us who are fortunate to live in the areas with good number of channels, OTA HD is quite amazing. My parents pick up over 30 channels, most of those are in HD (720p/1080i image with 5.1 sound). The picture quality is better than cable/satellite due to lower compression. People on the oth...

Re: Tom's rig

Sounds like you have a bad breaker , I run our 47 plasma and all my gear if I have to , no problems , unless I crank it way up ..... But watching a movie , should be no problem.... Thanks for the input, Steve. Everything you see there is sitting on a 15 amp breaker, the TV draws about 300 watts & o...

Re: ViperZ's Carver stuff

There is another forum member here you'd probably hit it off with, Basspig I think? Btw, have you heard any of the SVS subs? I've been drooling over those since wandering across their website a few years ago. ( http://www.svsound.com/products-sub.cfm ) Haven't heard one personally, and they get mix...

Nice and very clean setup. I love when people post photos rather just putting up a list of what they own. 8)
