Re: 1.5 Monoblocks

Thank you for all the nice comments on my amps..I'm very proud of how they came out..I'd love to bring them to Carverfest and have Bob sign both of them.. It was a lot of hard tedious work, and without really knowing the outcome..There were only 10 of these amps for sale, and I knew once they were g...

1.5 Monoblocks

Hi everyone... This past winter I became quite bored both with myself and my Carver system..I have a pair of origional Amazings, and as we all know are very hard to drive..I used a TFM-55. While this is a wonderful amp. the Amazings would spank it pretty hard when the volume was up..I was scanning E...

Re: TFm55 shutdown

Yes it would..It's known as biamping..Power the ribbons with the 35, and the mains with the 55.....Maybe swap them around and see what works the best.

It's a 1972 TR6R 650 Triumph with a 750 kit in it..Bought it in 1983, restored it,m and on the road in 1984..Been riding it ever since..

Re: TFm55 shutdown

The ones from Claiir Brothers are quite used, but they work...They need some cleaning, scratches, etc..They are true road dogs.. You get what you get..Some have been run without filters and are quite dirty inside, but again, they work.I have a couple of good ones that perform great..No hums, etc..Th...

Re: TFm55 shutdown

Yep..Sounds familiar..This has happened to me twice with my Amazing originals and TFM-55....I put a muffin fan over the louvers .. It does help some. Things are fine until I "stand on it"..I now run two Carver PM 1.5 Monoblocks, and they're capable of 1200 watts into 4 ohms..No problems..With only o...

Re: New Stuff...

Howdy treitz3... CAL made some of the finest audio gear. Mostly CD players, DAC's and transports. They are known for high quality sound and construction. I guess I heard of them as far back as the late 90's when I did a lot of reading and keeping up with the "trends"..They put a lot of effort into b...

Hi Kingman.. Thick Side 2 is good... The flip side. Great to relax to.. There are only 2 songs on that album, as you probably know...I Bought it in '72 right off the shelf..Vinyl, records.. I've purchased a California Audio Labs Tube Sigma II DAC, and the Delta CD Transport...The sound is totally awesome. I have heard things in my cd's that I haven't heard before. Great transparency and warmth. I am rediscovering my music collection again..These things are built like a tank. I am using...

Me stuff

I've been a Carver fan since 1990 when I purchased a pair of Amazings from a friend, who foolishly purchased a pair of "Maggies".. (A month later he was asking if I would be interested in selling the Carvers back..Ahh, No!) I drove them with an old Soundcraftsman power amp that worked it's ass off t...

Origional Carver Amazings..and my new C-9

First of all, I'm really enjoying the new C-9 processor. It truly makes a difference. I have everything dialed in now, and the difference is amazing. I had to move my Amazings around a little to get the imaging right..The "sweet spot" the Amazing are famous for having, (and any planer speaker for th...
