Re: Some issues with the AV806x amp

Sean: Congratulations - you really scored by snagging this rare masterpiece for a mere $235 =D> I too was a proud owner of an AV-806x until recently being forced to downsize. Here is what I found in my notes: 1. The power on switch can be replaced by one 15A/125V rating from mouser/digikey. Test it ...

Schematic needed for Carver CT-27v Preamplifier

Hi: I am trying to restore a broken Carver CT-27 Preamplifier with faulty relays and one dead channel. Unlike the earlier model (eg CT-26V) poor quality mass produced Chinese model, this one seems to be very well designed and is a pleasure to work on. Does anyone have a schematic or Service Manual w...

Re: tfm-35 diode identification ?

Hi Donberry:

Welcome to the forum.

Can you upload a picture of the "disaster" area? I may have the Service Manual/Schematic.

Also, are the big power capacitors bulging at the top?

Re: carver ct26V will not power up

Hi Guys: I just worked on a CT-26v with very similar symptoms. The preamp would not power on either from the remote or directly. No lights. Even the red standby LED would not come on. Cosmetically the preamp was in mint condition with no signs of abuse. All 3 1A/125V fuses inside were OK. When the s...

Re: Good Cosmetic Condition

Wow. One learns everyday - thank you "pros" for sharing your experience on these pro equipment. The PM-2.0t found by BillD looks very interesting. I have been patiently saving up for a nice M-500t - is anyone using these pro PM amps at home? How does the PM-2.0t compare with the M-500t? I am a regul...

Good Cosmetic Condition

Seems that the definition of "Good Cosmetic Condition" has acquired a new meaning on eBay. Re: power switch for CT-28 AV surround sound preamp

evilroy: The manufacturer is Panasonic-ECG. I believe the ESB82 series have long been discontinued (most manufacturers keep upgrading their product line regularly with newer technology, designs or materials). Looking at the picture you uploaded, I think you should be able to substitute another switc...

Re: VU Meter for TFM-15cb

Update: A carveraudio member Angelo was very kind to send me a VU meter from a TFM-25 parts unit. These are bigger than the ones for TFM-15. I carefully removed the movement and fixed in the housing of my defective VU. The TFM-15cb is now working perfectly! Thank you all, and Angelo specifically. =D...

VU Meter for TFM-15cb

Hi:

I need a VU meter for a TFM-15cb. I've looked around almost everywhere with no luck :(

Actually, just the movement will suffice.

Anyone has one lying in his/her parts bin?

Thanks

dfronk: While it has decent specs - AVOID this model. I have worked on 2 of these units and have come to the conclusion that this model has a design flaw with 2 resisitors overheating on the pre-amp out board, which causes the PCB to burn and break the thin copper tracks. This leads to increased dis...
