Re: The end of the CD? Truth or bullshit?

Re: Craigslist Jackass!!

Might be a coincidence but I recently bought a pair of Def Tech speakers from a guy in Silverdale who was selling them for his friend in Paulsbo. The guy I dealt with really knew audio and was great to deal with. I can't recall the details about his friend in Paulsbo except he was trying to find the...

Re: 1954 Corvette NOMAD~

Some great design came out of GM in the mid 50's. Olds, Pontiac, Buick all had 2 seater concept cars in 1954. Harley Earl designs. Have never seen the Corvette Nomad before.

Thanks for posting.

Re: memories of WLS

I should mention these CD's are likely taken off 'logger reels' that are very old....so the sound won't be stellar. If you had a favorite late night 50,000 watt station you can probably find a CD on E Bay. Back in the day of 25 cents a gallon gas you could 'cruise' and hear one radio station without...

Bose

Bose doesn't get much love on audio forums but here is a 'plug' for their QC15 (Noise Cancelling) Headphones. I have been using them for two years to make my frequent plane travel tolerable. They eliminate nearly all of the cabin noise and 'roar'. I Pod and I Pad for music source. My usual 2 hr 30 m...

Re: back in business

They did not replace the plate, they said it was an internal fuse failed due to a power surge. It had been plugged into a very good surge protector. The first thing I checked when it failed to power on was the external fuse , and it was ok. I will be checking with the mfg of the surge protector to s...

back in business

Sunfire True Sub EQ in now back in "the cave" after being shipped to the 'new' Sunfire in KY. Nothing against KY just wasn't wild about shipping it cross country. Bill at Sunfire Customer Service couldn't have been more helpful. While the cost was high I knew it up front so there were no surprises. ...

Re: 7.1

thanks for all of your comments. I have a spare Carver amp and spare speakers so there really isn't any reason not to set it up and try it. don't see a lot of dvd's in 7.1.... but I will be ready when I find one. ht is part of a large room ( 40+ft front to back ) so I will have fun moving speakers f...

Re: Own a gun ?

OO Re the $30,000 I mentioned....it was on a (gun) forum re personal protection. It was as I said 'one estimate'. It was an estimate, or average , of the likely attorneys fees. If I recall it also included the possibility of a civil suit. I actually thought the figure was low based on what good lawy...

Re: Own a gun ?

I don't think understanding the widely varying state laws pertaining to shooting someone shows lack of guts. The courthouse and jails are full of guys with a lot of guts. A few weeks ago my next door neighbor had his home invaded at 5:30 am. Not clear if the bad guy was armed, but he fled when confr...

Re: Own a gun ?

here is some useful information..... Legal liabilityEven when self-defense is justified, there can be serious civil or criminal liabilities related to self-defense when a concealed carry permit holder brandishes or fires his/her weapon. For example, if innocent bystanders are hurt or killed, there c...
