Re: Lightstar on Audiogon

Be very careful with this one. This is a picture of the amp I owned and sold to Toymaker. This picture was taken in my condo in Chicago. See link below. It has never been to Canada!!! This guy stole my pictures. Be warned!!!! See link below to see the original pics. http://www.martinloganowners.com/...

I know all of the 10,000 units of the mono boxset is sold out. Do not overpay for them on ebay or what not. EMI is pressing more mono box sets due to demand (much more). It will be out again in a few weeks. You can preorder these on Amazon now.

Re: Silver-1 Tube Preamp - FOR SALE

I would like nothing more than to listen to the Silver 1 in my system. I have nothing but admiration and respect for Bob Carver. I have and do own many Carver and Sunfire products. It is just that my taste has moved towards the sound of tubes and so my change over to Conrad Johnson. This is why I’m ...

Re: Silver-1 Tube Preamp - FOR SALE

It all depends on the pre-amp and the quality of parts used and of course how it sounds. I'm presently using a pre-amp that costs over $13k and find it is well worth the money!! It is a high quality product and sounds fantastic. When spending this kind of money for me it is important to get to know ...

Re: ViperZ's Carver stuff

The Martin Logan Depth, Depth i, and Descent and Descent i all use what ML calls "balanced force" design. The drivers are set up in a "Y" configuration to help cancel any resonance. Just good design!!! and I can attest to the fact the sub sounds great and does not move.

Re: Active x-over for 2 CHNL......

I run Martin Logan Monoliths and when I first got them I had the Passive crossover for them and I thought they sounded great. With some luck and a bit of wheeling and dealing I got my hands on an OEM Martin Logan Exos crossover. This sold from ML as a $3,500.00 dollar option and I can tell you it is...

Re: The ugly amp. I want it.

500 watts of tube power you are lookin at an airplane heater not the A/C unit. Manley amps are very good!!! I had a manley stingray amp a few years back and it was a great amp very musical.

Re: Best Phono preamp under $500?

I would give some thought to the Sutherland PH3D. I got to listen to the phono pre amp and was blown away. It sells for $1,000.00 new but can be had on audiogon for$500.00 or less. This pre-amp uses no AC it uses 16 D batteries to power it. It is dead silent.

Re: Steve,s Porn....

I have to agree the tubes add a warmth and midrange glow that I love. I bi-amp so I still get the bass punch from a SS amp. I have the CJ premier 140 tube amp running my stat panels and the Premier 350 doing bass duty. It is a stellar combination .
