Re: The Mother of all Sunfire Vacuum Tube Pre Amp Upgrades

Are neutrik rated for that kind of voltage? Those particular Neutrik connectors are rated for 250 VAC. Furthermore, they're rated for disconnection under full load (16/20 amps, that preamp should never draw anywhere near that current). Add in locking and waterproof, and that's one serious connector...

Welcome to the forum! :-)

That's a lot of M-200t's! Do you run one with each pair of speakers?

For the sake of completeness, here's the Clearview CXR-22 user manual: IMG_20150513_160220.jpg IMG_20150513_160258.jpg IMG_20150513_160334.jpg IMG_20150513_160416.jpg IMG_20150513_160454.jpg IMG_20150513_160537.jpg IMG_20150513_160633.jpg IMG_20150513_160711.jpg IMG_20150513_161151.jpg IMG_20150513_...

Re: WTB: Clearview CXR-22

You're welcome, el! :) Glad I could help. Thanks for the pics- that's quite the collection you've amassed there! Here are some response curves for that CXR-22. Sorry about the orientation, but I figured preserving resolution was more important: IMG_20150513_123458.jpg IMG_20150513_123557.jpg IMG_201...

Re: WTB: Clearview CXR-22

1. Well, I'll grumble about the lack of .PDF support again, because it's just ridiculous. Converting file type loses functionality if not resolution, and why bother?

2. I saved the pages as screenshots, let's see how this works!

Can we upload .pdf's? I came across some good info by the manufacturer of the Clearviews.

Re: Can Sunfires be bridged

The illustrations from the manual demonstrate a *parallel* bridged configuration. AKA "strapped" - note the jumpers connecting the output terminals. A parallel bridged setup *will not* gain you any more power into a given resistive load! The only way for more current to flow would be to increase the...

Re: EndersShadow's setup

Nice rack, Dan! :) From what I've *read*, it sure acts like the infamous B&K processor whine. For a cheap attempt at a fix, I'd suggest the longest cheapest RCA's you can find (50'?). Just bundle/stow them neatly. The extra capacitance of the long run will drop some of your theoretically audible hig...

I hear ya- exactly how it went with mine. Sunfire really dropped the ball when it came to electrolytic caps.

And I'd agree that Flannery is worth every penny on these subs! Sometimes the aggravation of DIY isn't justified by a little cost savings.

Glad you got her up and running! :)

That's pretty hardcore when you get a speaker-related injury!

Re: How Hot or Cold is your Carver amp Running

Even with the quiet fan mod, the turbulence that makes the airflow cool so well is still kinda loud. Maybe take a page from the TFM-75 book and put a baffle in front of the exhaust?
