Re: Found a RECEIVER 2000

videodoktor,

Welcome, fortunate one. I have a Receiver 2000 and regard it as one of the best receivers I've heard, certainly the best I've owned. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours.

Re: Just got back...now my MXR130 is locked

cpc, Welcome home and thanks for the time you were there. The locked light is not a problem. It is the indicator that the tuner is locked onto a station. Check for other things that might be stopping the tunes... you need to have one of the speaker buttons (A or B) selected to get noise. Maybe the t...

Re: Hello from LA.....Lower Alabama the other LA

Faustus, You need to think outside the box when it comes to vintage gear... Dreamer, no doubt you're right! Almost all of my vintage gear is stuff that I bought brand new way back when. My skills for sniffing out the trash/treasure have never been developed. Just for the fun of it, I might ask the ...

BillD, Congrats on a life well lived. Six-Oh is no small feat -- I hope I make it that long. Best belated birthday wishes! I'm having a cold one in your honor. Later, a cigar and a snifter of tequila. The party lamp is ON.

Re: Monster is sueing BlueJeans Cable...

I bought a couple of 10-foot HDMI cables from Monoprice a couple of weeks ago. The performance is excellent and the price was so low that I almost didn't buy them -- glad I did. After the good HDMI experience, I decided to get banana plugs from Monoprice... another good experience! Then I needed a d...

Re: Hello from LA.....Lower Alabama the other LA

Yo, Chazzer! Man, I've got to get in touch with these yard sales you go to. I went to a four of 'em in one day with my wife about 15 years ago and swore I would never go again -- just a bunch of crap, and definitely no Carver gear or decent stereo gear. Maybe I've been missing the boat all these yea...

Re: Carver For a Professional Studio Engineer :)

Welcome, alxalxalx. Great to have you here, we can get the European perspective on Carver gear... is Carver audio gear well known in Denmark? I've been a fan of Denmark's beer since the mid-1970's -- Tuborg and Carlsberg are the ones I've enjoyed. I also drank the Elephant beer when I was in high sc...

I enjoy trying to figure out some of your cryptic one-liners -- you're a straight shooter, but the bullets come out of the barrel with a unique spin.

Howdy JavaGriffin,

Great to have another legacy member -- the only one I know of is ToyMaker. You can build your system more quickly if you poach from pappy's gear!

My Sunfire manual says to dial the sub in for HT then lower it 10 db for music. Maybe that will give you a starting point.... there's a 10dB difference between what's considered right for HT and what's right for music??? I mean, WTF? The 10dB difference is due to the Dolby/DTS spec for the LFE chan...

Hi Tekkis,

Packers fan or Lions fan? Either way, welcome aboard.

Do you still get regular use of your cassette decks? I've got four decks (Nak and Carver) in service. I've used cassette for so many years that I can't feel good about getting rid of them.
