Re: sunfire signature has no earth/ground?

Hey Rabbit,
While you're in there doing the wiring fix, why don't you pop that black can off so we can see the size of the power supply toroid?

Re: sunfire signature has no earth/ground?

Bad guess. The peanut butter goes inside the sandwich, not on the outside of the bread.

Spilled heatsink goo is more a sign of carelessness. I guess that's normal depending on who's been in the amp.

"amnesty" and "acquittal" have different meanings.

Bob, did you build a railway while you were in there?

I guess this explains why Rich's new rules put everyone on a posting treadmill.

Re: No redemption on the Carversite

I think Rich should let BobP out of the sandbox.
He's been in there for years, and he didn't do anything except ask questions.
Bob was the first casualty.
You guys stick up for RobertR and Zumbini.
Why not BobP?
He's the guy who showed everybody how to biamp and Bob also started the recapping craze.

I must admit, being in the Wild West again is refreshing.
There's some funny stuff here.

Re: No redemption on the Carversite

Yeah Bob, you don't have to explain that.
The dog craps on the rug, and here I suggest giving it a treat.
I thought about that before I posted and ignored it. The post was about getting something for nothing and expecting your input to be heard.

Re: No redemption on the Carversite

Robert R, thanks for the info.

The nice thing about having individual countries, not One World Government, is when the place you're in goes bad, you can vote with your feet.
I suggest enjoying hanging out on Carveraudio for while. I don't think it has a gulag.
It's a nice spot.

Re: No redemption on the Carversite

Complaining is free. By contributing $ you are returning value.
I've read the new rules, and I laugh at them. Steve Jobs at one point wanted everyone at Apple to wear a uniform.
Disfunctional ideas have a way of not surviving long term.

Re: No redemption on the Carversite

Well, that raises a good point. If you don't approve of the new policies on Carversite, which is a free service you can choose to use or not use, you can weight your complaints with a $20 donation. Nothing in this world is truly "free", and you can't really expect to enforce your will on how you thi...

Re: No redemption on the Carversite

I can only congratulate Rich who has spent so much time researching mods to upgrade amps with modern components to improve their sound and robustness. He then made the mods public to share with others, which I consider quite generous. Likely the proceeds from his amp rebuilding business finance Carv...

Re: No redemption on the Carversite

We both were at Carverfest that year, and I remember when the question was asked. Bob Carver said it OK with him to mod the amps. Specifically the question was about increasing power supply caps. Making those bigger will cause more of a grunt when the amp powers up, but won't make the "magnetic" amp...

Re: No redemption on the Carversite

I don't remember BobP saying anything bad about other members, so that can't be why he was sandboxed. I do know he was scrutinizing certain amp mods that cranked up rail voltage in the hopes of getting illusory higher power output. There are a couple of dangers in doing this. 1) If you're running du...
