Re: 09/09/09 The Beatles

Strage finding...why was Rubber Soul remastered from the 86/87 George Martin stereo mix instead of the 60's master?

Re: Blues

I think John Lee Hooker is the real king of the blues. I feel his influence in everything that came after-Stones, Zeppelin, ZZ Top, George and the Destroyers, and numerous others. For me, everything goes back to the Hook.

Re: The Beatles 9/9/09

I listened to that in regular stereo and it was awesome. George Martin and his son did a fantastic job on that.

Re: The Beatles 9/9/09

You are foolish and living under a rock if you think songs like Let It Be, Something, Hey Jude, The Long and Winding Road, Come Together, and Here Comes The Sun won't endure. These are all songs recorded late in the 60's. I think they are all post-1968.

Re: The Beatles 9/9/09

To each his own. I'm looking forward to listening to these releases on my Carver-powered system, having some A/B testing, and enjoying the process. If you really looked hard enough at any musician, I'm sure there's reason to not listen to his/her work. I just listen to the music and enjoy it. Chris

Re: The Beatles 9/9/09

"How many different ways are they going to re-package this mediocrity?" Interesting comment. Apple/EMI were late to the game in 1987 when the albums were released for the first time on compact disc. There has been a huge demand for a remastering of the albums from some fans. I'm still playing my dis...

There's only one - Apocalypse Now Redux.

The sound mixing on that film is amazing.

I thought you had found the image tied in to the song on the internet. But really, terror attacks have happened to our country throughout the past two hundred years, and I doubt those who attacked us considered the state of our morality before they attacked us. One of the problems I've always found ...

We've been running one of those amps in a surround sound system for over ten years without problem.

Fantastic amp that's never given us a problem.

Imagine is one of the best sounding songs on my stereo! The vocals and the piano sound so live coming through my Studio 40 speakers. Everything on John's first solo album post-Beatles has that same amazing sound. John had a real gift for surrounding himself with quality recording engineers and produ...

Imagine is one of the songs I use to set up and enjoy my system with. Amazing sounding work from Phil Spector and John Lennon.
