Solvent needed

Does anyone have a suggestion as to a solvent I can use to remove the cement or epoxy used on the speaker cone where the connection is made between the lead wires and the voice coil winding? I am pretty sure I have an intermittant connection at this point as the speaker cuts in and out. Needs to be ...

There were more than one version of HPM speakers, the 60's came with both foam and the sticky cloth surround depending on the year they were made. The HPM 100's came in two versions from what I have read on other sites, a 100 watt model and a 200 watt model. The HPM 900's are the newest version of t...

This is just a long shot but it may be a transformer buzz that is muffled by the cabinet since the hum is really not that loud and is present when the sub is in standby mode, since the transformer is energized as long as the plug is in the wall. After a little more thought quite posssibly the cabine...

M500

Unless I am in error the M500 has no on/off switch. The unit must be controlled by the preamps 110 volt switched receptacle on the rear of the unit. The M500t on the other hand has a on/off switch and cleaning may be in order.

Original Carver Amazings

I purchased a pair of original amazing speakers this week that are in need of a little tlc. These speakers have the 12 inch honeycomb woofers that someone attempted to replace the surrounds and really botched the job so bad that it leads me to ask this question. Is there anyone who can funish me wit...

George, First let me thank you for your input, and second I have 4 M500T amps as I stated. The first two I have owned for 18 years without a spec of trouble.I believe the reason for no trouble is that I have a four inch square equipment fan blowing on each one as they do generate some heat. I have a...

I need opinions

Okay guys give it to me straight. I have been toying with the idea of buying 2 pair of Carver Amazing Platinum or the origial Amazing Speakers. My concern is the bottom end, I am sure that the ribbons are as sweet as my Grandmothers apple pie, but I am a bass fanatic. I'm talking rain gutter rattlin...

M500T

Anybody out there with any knowledge of carvers M500T amp? At this point the unit is still functional but I am a little concerned because the heatsink for the one channel is considerably hotter than the other one even when there is no input signal. I am hoping someone has had the same problem and ma...

M500T Lamps

Les, There is no Carver part# for the lamps, Only a supplier part# which is BF352-53001A and B since there are two lamps. They are 8volt lamps rated at .25 amps. Let me ask you did you try to get these from carver? I spent hour upon hour on the web trying to find these bulbs with no luck. Finally, I...
