Specs needed on a Carver KLW AUDIO K MOS 2200

Can anyone tell me the output power specs on a Carver KLW AUDIO K MOS 2200 amp? Is it 2 X 200?

Also, if anyone is selling an M series amp (M-240 or M-4120 for example), I may be interested.

I had two K MOS 2200s at one time...


Now I only have one driven a Pioneer IMPP 12" Sub.
I'll look and see if I still have the owners manual here.

in stereo each channel can drive 2 ohms, 4 ohms mono bridged(halve its stereo rating) and mono power is just a bit more then 300, close to 340 watts. it gives out 150 watts/chn into 2 ohms. i have fixed and built over 200 of them, as i purchased carvers remaining surplus of all there parts when they closed down. i was also lucky to pic up many M4120 boards adn M4060 boards that i have fixed and made into working amps. i love the M series amps for Mid/twts and the Kmos for Bass.

Is the amp 2 ohm stable?

If the Carver K MOS 2200 is only rated 2x100w RMS @ 4 ohms, can anyone explain why it has two 25-amp fuses, when the M-240 and M-2120 which are 2x120w RMS @ 4 ohms only come with a single 20-amp fuse?

When I A/B my K MOS 2200 against all 4 of my M-240 and my M-2120, it sure seems to be lot more powerful, effortlessly pushing my Realistic model APM-200 Audio Power Meter well past 100 RMS continuous even into 8 ohms.

I sure would welcome a scan of the specification page from a Carver owners manual for the M-240, M-2120, M-4120, PMA-2150, K MOS 2150, K MOS 4200, or especially the K MOS 2200.

common mistake, you have to remember that the M series amps are a magnetic power supply( carver exclusive), and are much more efficient then a standard MOsFet A/B amp, kind of between a Digital and a A/B amp in draw/power output. thus the difference in fuse inputs. the m-240/m2120 are 120 x 2 into 4 ohms, 240 mono into 8ohms, the kmos 2200 is 100 x 2 into 4 ohms, or 150 x 2 into 2 ohms, or 340 mono into 4ohms. kmos 2150 is 75x 2into 4ohms, 200 mono into 4 ohms, the kmos 4200 is 50 x 4 into 4 ohms, 75 x 4 into 2 ohms, and 150 x 2 into 4ohms.

the M-4120 was two of the M-2120 together, more or less. the PMA was the same as the Kmos 2150. not sure on the thd or thd+n, but they are all very under rated amps, still to this day i run my M amps and will not get rid of them.....sweet and juicy like these nutz. for mid/highs.
