no doubt -- i never felt the need to buy a genesis record after gabriel left. so what are those other guys -- a theatrical tribute band? kind of like beatlemania?

Yes they are a tribute but this one is impeccable!!!!. Complete sincere imitation right down to Peter G and the reverse mohawk. Please view this for further info:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Musical_Box_(band)

/mx saw it(LLDOB 74 original and 2004 MB version) but sadly me.....I missed it. There are a few dates we are considering for '08'

If you get an opportunity to see the show......get the balcony for superlative sound.......some folks who saw the tour previously said that the main floor was "Just too loud to understand"

Hope Y'all get a chance to check it out........Highly reccommended!

Good to see you back BobP

Toodles,

You have got to be kidding....

Gabrial blows. Sounds like he's taking a dump, and trying to sing at the same time.
Phil's voice is MUCH more pleasent !!

My problem was that I could never figure out where Genesis ended and Phil Collins began. No stylistic difference once Phil became front man.

Bill, i think you're probably familiar with the Top 40 group that was called Genesis. Collins was the front man for them. And you're right -- Phil Collins' solo work sounds just like what he did with that group he called "Genesis." It was total pop.

Genesis was a totally different band when Gabriel did the song writing. I think that the difference would be obvious to everyone, but to some people VanHagar sounded just like VanHalen.

For me Genesis jumped the shark after And Then There Were Three.

I love Trick of the Tail and Seconds Out. ATTW3 has some songs I like but
would never consider buying anything they've done after.

Gabrial vs Collins is like Hendrix vs Abba
