Glad to help. Let us know what you think of the little Sunfires after you set them up!

So I am hooking everything up in anticipation of the new speakers, but have a hum coming from my amp /speakers.

I have an Onkyo receiver being used as a pre, with a Carver z coupler running to the Sunfire amp. (No pre on the damn receiver)

The hum comes through regardless of volume.

I tested the amp, using my MXR 130 as a pre and there was no hum.

HELP!!!!

The system sounds great!

The room is set up differently, so they really are a better fit than the Amazings.

I will get some pics soon.

As you get accustomed to the different sound field, you will notice how they produce pleasant music whether or not you are in the sweet spot due to the reflective nature of the side firing mids.

Big speaker sound from a small speaker. Great choice. Hope u enjoy them Chris.

Very nice! I'm sure the Klipsch is doing just fine, those older SW subs are actually quite musical I'd take one over many of the newer (cheap) home theater inspired subs any day. Happy 4th!

I hooked up my TT through an inexpensive phono pre and it sounds horrible.

The pre is a Little Bear T7, and the cartridge is a shure 5x BR103.

Very muddy sound. I have it grounded, etc...

Any suggestions? Besides buy a nicer pre( for now. Lol)

If you can, swap the MXR-130 with the Onkyo, then you can use it's phono section.

I got it rolling!

I like the Onkyo because it has all of the modern features, controlling everything from my phone, Sirius, streaming, etc...

Plus the wife and kid got it for me for my bday a couple of years back.

Time to work a few weeks and send my ribbons out for repair!

Glad you got it worked out, you now have two pairs of my all time favorite speakers. The Silvers were a true match for my Klipsch Chorus II's, my all time favorites, each had their own strengths and weaknesses I could have lived with the Silvers for sure but at the time there was no ribbon repair options available and that kind of scared me so I moved them out. The CRM-2's with dual Klipsch RSW-10's were pretty damn close in Sound quality, very nice and really quite amazing for their size almost unbelievable just another example of Bob Carver's genius!

The board was out on the pre. So I have a cheap one in place until the new one arrives.

The setup really does sound great!
