My Carver journey...

My Carver journey started about a year ago when my old Nakamichi receiver which had served me well for over twenty three years, lost the left channel. I went shopping for new audio and discovered that I couldn't afford what I liked and didn't like what I could afford. That's when I stumbled across this site and became enlightened and enthused about Carver equipment.

Two ebay deals, two purchases from the great members of this site, some wonderful and very economical service by Rita's Vintage Audio Repair and I now have two great systems in place and providing great sound.

In the living room: Carver M1.0t, Carver C-1 autographed by Bob (thanks Ray), Oppo DV-980-H, Music Hall mmf5 with Goldring cartridge, Marantz CD player, Nakamichi CR-3A, and a Vintage (like new) pair of Klipsch Forte series I speakers.

In the motorcycle shop: Carver M-500t (serviced by Rita and autographed by Bob), Carver C-2, Carver TX-2, Sirius radio and PC driven internet radio and CD/DVR, driving my old pair of Vandersteen model III speakers.

Both systems sound great, but different. The shop system is turned on at 9:00am and off at 10:00pm six days a week, and never gets fatiguing. Of course there is always room for improvement and more Carver equipment, but for now I am well pleased and thoroughly addicted. OCCD.

I couldn't have gotten this far along without the help and encouragement of this group and I humbly thank you all.

Really enjoyed your story! I almost felt like I was there. Don't take this the wrong way, but I think I would be spending a lot of time in the motorcycle shop. Both systems do have their strong points > Very nice!

Not taken the wrong way at all. I do spend most of my time in the shop, it's how I make my living. Music is important to my productivity.
