What happened to the Sunfire amp? Do you prefer the A-760x? Nice setup by the way!

Re: Newbie's system

Thanks. Sunfire is in the shop. Rabbit - My basement is almost completely underground so it's cinder block, wood studs and 70's thin paneling. I'd get weird echos/noise off the back wall, this fixed that issue.

Yea, see what you mean. Those panels got me reading on room design and speaker placement.
Apparently that is more important than I thought.
Now my brain is confused with sound waves, reflections and stuff guys like you know all about.
I am learning everyday from yall though.

Re: Newbie's system

Thanks! Tom at vintagehifipgh and I had been talking about this for awhile. We wanted to make a modified amazing silvers that had the drivers facing the sides and a few other ideas. I went with this. A 48" ribbon /8" driver /9.5" width /15" deep with a slotted port on the back. I think they are 59" tall. The cabinets are made out of oak and some plywood. The imaging is awesome and little driver does a good job of providing a punchy bass.

Here's a few pics of the building process. I guess I should have started a new thread.
