Is that the one that just ended on eBay? I love my TGP-1 and am lost at why so cheap??? "GREAT" two channel pre but very smooth and clean and nothing comes close for the going prices now days!!! I still love the hologram on older carver stuff over any of the Sunfires C-1 4000t or what ever....

Yup, that's the one.
Re: Newbie's system
Well I have been wanting to finally put my list and pics here but the one camera I have is not giving me decent pics so I will have to try the wifes camera.....when she gets home from shopping
I first got hooked on this stuff when I was 17 and a friend who had a great Phase Linear and SpeakerLab Corner speakers system and he took me to SpeakerLab when it was a tiny room packed with everything (1975)
Bob Carver was there that day.
So I started saving my money and first got the M-400 Carver Cube (still have it in perfect condition with the original box) and the Phase Linear Model 4000 Series Two preamp which I have here.
I got those out of Seattle.
Then I started going over to Lynwood since it was closer and Carver was right there waiting for me.
So I was one of the first customers to get the original pair of Carver Amazing LS's with the 2 piece ribbons.
I still have them but thanks to Bob I got to test them over and over using the M-400 and I added the Carver M-1.0t and the C-19 along with the C-9 Sonic Hologram Gen. and the Carver ACC FM Detector and Carver SD/A-490t VTR disc player.
I am the only human to ever touch them since they came home to live with me when all of these first came out.
Now back in 1994 I had a M-400 problem after testing a friends preamp which killed the M-400 so I took it over to Lynwood for repair and took her back home.
But after that I couldn't find Carver or any info/help so until the WWW started I didn't know what Bob was doing but I knew he could never stop.
I saw he was building the Sunfires so I looked around the web just to know what they did since I figured what I have is good for now.
Well back when I was blowing up ribbons and crossovers and getting new parts I switched to the one piece ribbons and changed crossovers a couple times early on.
So now I am using a pair of rebuilt Bose 901 Series VI until I can find a pair of crossovers for my Amazing twins.
So if you have a connection for that let me know
I emailed Rita today with a couple questions but I will also ask you guys......any place that has the Carver and Phase Linear serial numbers???
Not that this is audio but I just bought myself a birthday present (which is not until Jan.29th but....)
As you can see my Amazing LS's will not fit in my living room with the new 82 inch Mitsubishi DLP w/Blu-Ray and 3-D...so I have no idea what I will do when I get the Amazing's back to working.
Ok here is a couple not so great pics until I use a better camera.

Thanks Jag (btw I also have a 1980 Jag in my garage for some reason
)I tend to take pics all the time and the old ones I have of my system from 30 years ago are some where around here.
Still use the same cabinet I got in 1980 (made in the 1860's)
I still have pic with the Cube and the Phase Linear and some cheap cassette deck and I think I had the current turntable back then too (that is missing the cartridge now) in this cabinet.
I will try to take better pics of those things but here is my fuzzy ones I took with the cheap camera today with my current setup.

I live on 5 acres I bought myself for my 27th birthday in 1985 and all through the 80's and 90's I had fun playing music for the valley here with a ALS stuck in the front doorway and the other with the widow open behind it

Thanks Scarabeo
The 3-D box and 2 pair of 3-D glasses came with the deal I got.
I don't have much to test them with but I tried with a blu-ray disc they gave me but I must have did something wrong and it didn't work (I was out of gas setting this thing up and moving the old monster 67in rear projection Mitsubishi back to the bedroom that I got back in 2002)
Funny thing is I payed over $4000 for the 67in back in 2002 and got all of this deal for the 82in,blu-ray,3-D,and the stand for only $3299 free shipping.
How do you like the 3-D?
I heard ESPN shows 3-D so maybe......is it working good for you??
Btw that pic of your system looks like you are quite a bit more modern than mine

Re: Newbie's system

Is that Blown away man poster on the wall, one of the bigger posters.
