The new console arrived :) ...... :(

Well, I was happier than a pig in shit yesterday when the console I'd been waiting for arrived. I'd ordered it on June 5th, and it was being custom made by furniture in the raw. It looks great, and I was very pleased until I started putting components into the side compartments. The shelves are all adjustable with metal pins. I wrestled the Sig into it's proper place in the middle just above the drawer. That's a heavy beast! When the TG IV gets here it will go above the Sig. Anyway, I started putting other components into the side compartments, and noticed the level was not correct. Apparently, when they made the console they screwed up, and have the two center panels installed upside down. This throws off the alignment, and causes the shelves to not be level. Of course Furniture in the raw will fix it. They will pick it up on Saturday, and have it back the following Saturday. One of these days, I'm gonna have my setup done! Just not this day.

Thanks No, these are 2A's. I have a set of 2B's coming soon, and will be giving them the full treatment with 198-1 tweeters, crossover upgrade by Ben over at CP, dynamat, mortite, and spikes, plus new Vampire wire 9X/cb binders. I put 194 tweets in the 2A's, and did the dynamat tweak, and they sound a lot better than they did with the 2000's.

Right you are! When the TG IV gets here it will be above the Sig. This cabinet is open in the back, so there should be plenty of airflow.

Do you have the smoked glass bases for the Sunfire units? That stops a LOT of heat from transferring from one to the other....

It will look nice when fixed but it sucks that it showed up that way.

That is a beautiful cabinet! I also wonder about the heat? My TGC-5 gets warm to the touch and I though if your referring to say heat sinks and cooling, that the whole cover is where heat is dissipated? I could be wrong, I also have my processor sitting on top of my amp on 1" risers, but maybe the warm to touch is coming from the processor.

I agree - that is a great cabinet. So many times guys just have a sterile rack.
