The new console arrived :) ...... :(

Thanks for the complements. We wanted something that rally looks like a piece of furniture. I looked at racks, but to have one that would hold everything, it would be way tall. So I started looking at all kinds of consoles like this, but everything had drawbacks. I found something at Furniture in the raw that was pretty close to what I wanted, but it needed some tweaks to make it right. I was told that they could custom build what I wanted, so this is what I ended up doing. It is on 6 casters, which will really help when hooking things up and/or making changes, has the drawer, and 8 adjustable shelves. The top riser is made for the Polk CSiA6, which is apparently bigger than most, and I had not found one, so I had that built too. All in all it cost a little over $1200 TTL included. I'll sure be glad to get it back, so I can get the system put together. Still waiting on the TG IV, 3 sets of interconnects, and the SDA2B speakers, but hopefully I'll have it all done soon. Wish I could have added in the good tunes, but the system is torn down right now. But hopefully a week from today I'll get the console back, and get this stuff back together!

Well, it's a week later, and as promised the console made it back. They fixed the shelf problem, so now all shelves are level. As you can see in the attached photo, there is a glaring hole in the middle where the TG IV is supposed to be. The guy I bought it from was finally supposed to be bringing it down yesterday evening, but never showed up. Tried to call him but no answer, and no call back. This has been going on since I got back home the 3rd of June. I bought the unit on April 15th, and he said he comes down to Austin frequently, would hold onto it, and deliver it when I got back from Houston. He has been up in Chicago with his Mother in the hospital, but called me last week and said he'd be here yesterday. Hopefully I'll hear something from him soon. Wiring has gone about as far as I can go without the pre/pro. About the only thing I can do for now is stick the Pioneer receiver in there to use as a pre until I get the TG IV.

VERY nice~ I especially like the roller wheels to pull it away from the wall easily--very smart!

The only thing I would do differently is run your power cords in one group & your I/Cs & cable coax in another group. You're likely to introduce hum by running your power & interconnects together....

Man you ain't kidding about that HUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! Have a terrible hum. Have to try to reroute something. I tried to keep the power separate but I guess something is introducing it. I tried to not run any audio cables in parallel to power cords, just crossing.

The guy with the TG IV texted me this morning, and he is still up in Chicago. Had a death in the family. He said he would be back next weekend, and bring it down Saturday.

Talked to Gary, and he pointed me in the right direction on the hum. It was coming in from the Sat. receiver to dish cable. When I took that off the hum went away. Gary said to try to ground the Sat receiver. I did that, and hooked up the cable again, and no more hum! You saved me a lot of time

There is a lot to plug in AC wise, what are you using for outlets? Any dedicated lines? I ran two PS Audio Soloist on dedicated lines >

I'm also wondering if your using a HDMI to the TV? And what are you using for your on-screen display from the processor? S-video or composite? I love your set up! Sorry for all the questions, but like to know how everyone connects also?

Thanks Jerry. Yes the 8 channel will be between the OPPO 83SE and the TG IV. For outlets I have 3 furman conditioners and will be running on 2 dedicated circuits. Yes, HDMI to the TV, from the Sat. and BR for video, and optical for audio. Component video from pre/pro to the TV.
