Carver MRX-900 questions

Hello Everyone:

Last week via CraigList, I purchased my first Carver audio product, the MRX-900 receiver for $40! It has the following issues:
1. The previous owner sawed off the rack handles.
2. No output when tuner is selected.
3. Scratches on the face plate.
4. The glass covering the LED and the source selecter assembly are loose.

For #1, does anyone know are handles available for this model receiver? BTW, it took me all of 5 minutes to remove the six screws for the cover and the 12 screws to remove the face plate to access the screws for the rack handles.

For #2, any suggestions in re to trouble shooting would be greatly appreciated. I found a place in that has the service manual for $14 for a hard copy.

For #3, is it possible to sand and paint the affected areas? If so, what type of paint do I use?

For #4, what kind of expoxy/glue should I use?

Good luck...it appears to me that you have acquired a unit that will require alot of work...not sure if it is worth your efforts...sorry!!!!

Replacing the tuner IC will likely get the radio section working again:

5 minute epoxy should do a great job securing the glass.

Also, watch e bay for rack handles.
