Its been forever since we have posted an update to our system, and I thought it was about time some light was shone into our living room! Our system has gone through so many changes over the last few years, with everything we have done for Bob, our custom speakers, the Sonorus CarverFest speakers and many other projects I can't talk about right now, the listening room has just been one huge state of flux!

James (ToyMaker) and I have have been procrastinating and dragging our butts on getting our prototype ALSs disassembled, painted and reassembled for MONTHS.... The speakers have been sitting half complete for about 3 months, due to nothing more than a mental block, but yesterday I got a stick up my ass and decided, fuck it, I want them done!! Spent about 5 hours finishing up the crossovers, wiring the ribbons and putting the final touches on the ALSs. By midnight they were standing ominously in the living room pumping out hair raising tunage! James took about 5 minutes to set up a new MiniDSP and the beautiful melodic sound these can produce came back to life in this house for the first time in two years! Don't get me wrong, I love our Sonorus CarverFest speakers, but there is just something about these towers I like better.

The other new additions to the system are TWINS! We met a gentleman from Tampa who is a home theater installer, and he told us he had a blown JL 13.5" Fathom that was out of warranty that he wanted to get rid of. After a few days of talking back and forth, him and James agreed on a barter, the busted JL for some custom work for one of the guy's customers. After about 3 weeks, James got another call from the same guy and he said he had another blown JL! Back story, in December we all upgraded to Note 8s for free because of the Note 7 battery fiasco, and they let us keep the loaner S7s we received when we turned in the Note 7s.
We traded the old S7s for the 2nd JL! So at that point we had two 130 paper weights, James went online and researched how to refoam these bad boys and bought the surrounds off eBay. A week later, and about 2 hours a piece, these babies thump aloud enough to rattle the neighbors house! In the photos below, the decorative dustcaps have not been put back on, we held off on them until we were sure there were no issues with either sub.

We have a few more changes to the system that will happen over the next year or so, but for now this is the system we are running:

Customized ALS Prototype (set 6) speakers
TeslaAudio Sonorus speakers (backup)
Sunfire CRM-2 speakers (rear surrounds)
(2) JL 13.5" F1-13 Fathom subwoofers
A Sunfire TGR 2 - 200/5
A Sunfire 200/5 amp
Logitech Transporter with media server
Google Chromecast
