You get 24 hours to edit your post, then mistakes or omissions become permanent. Also, you can only delete a post before someone else adds a reply to it. This was done to prevent members from erasing old posts and breaking the continuity of the forum.

A good idea is to put your list in your signature... that you can edit all the time, and update whenever needed like mine.

GSB, you are supposed to create your own topic and list it there, not in someone else's System Description. That is why this new thread was created; because the old one had become so full of irrelevant comments that it became totally useless.

Sorry for the crappy pictures with my cheapie Vivtar. The components are stuck in a walk-in area in the bedroom so are really hard to photograph well. Downside with shelves is lots of exposed cables.
Everything is level except for the camera...
Here's the upstairs system:

and 1.6s with an NHT sub hiding off to the side, couple of Gibsons - room in the back is guitar storage but it may get turned into the stereo component area at a later date.

Thanks - it all looks really messy to me; someday soon I'll build some proper cabinets and then stick some wheels on them so I can roll it around to get to the back.
Funny you should mention that turntable as I just now have everything going properly. Everything showed up - record clamp, a better stylus pressure gauge, 2 way platter level and all of the stuff I needed to get an old VPI HW-17 record cleaning machine going again. A true garage sale special straight from the garage!
As for your question, the sound puts most CDs to shame. I don't know if it's the table, the cartridge, the mixing job or the medium. Maybe a combination of everything.
Now I'm just waiting on Bob Carver to get back to me on the Sunfire Phono Board and I can move it downstairs.
I've had the Stax headphones for at least 25 years and they just keep sounding better. Once every month or two I think about selling them and then I put them on and so much for that idea. They present the music in a totally different way than normal headphones but sure look silly.

Interconnects are mostly from Ben at Polk Forum (thanks, Treitz3), speaker wire are Tributaries (thanks, MadMaxx) and power cords are home brewed.

Here's some new stuff:
They finally made another batch of dust covers for the Well Tempered Labs turntable plus there's their record clamp which I didn't have before.
Next are a pair of BBE Sonic Maximizers, a GREAT addition that RichP turned me onto. The 362 is a pro version which has an adjustable bass control, the other is a 2002R which Rich had lying around and he was good enough to sell to me.
It took some thought to get a C9 and a 2002R hooked up to that preamp - pre out to BBE in, BBE out to C9 in, C9 out to pre in and then you have to leave the tape monitor always on. I'll list it here in case I forget!
The VPI record cleaning machine actually came out of somebody's garage and just needed a new mat and brushes. Well worth doing.
Last but not least is an M500 Mk. II which RichP put a gain knob on so that I can use it for a set of rear MMG speakers and control the volume. The idea is something similar to the C-4000 but with a Sunfire Tube Preamp.
The CDs have been moved, I just needed a place to stick them for a moment.
