A Sonic Frontiers Line 2 preamp has replaced the old faithful C4000 for the upstairs system - this is a tremendous unit recommended by F1Nut. Good job, I never would have even considered one on my own. I had never heard of them before.
Top photo is the preamp, bottom photo is the power supply.

My mistake, that preamp is an SFL-2, not Line 2. The Line 2 is a different model with more bells and whistles. Still like it, though.
I do miss the tone controls as I'd like to be able to dial the bass back on some CDs and a BBE unit will not work with it. It just kills the soundstage and will make the speakers clip like mad.

Steve, is the SFL-2 a tube pre? How do you like the Ortofon 2M black? I was thinking of a bronze or blue for my rig.

Yeah, the SFL-2 has eight tubes in it and weighs a ton. A recommendation from Jesse.
I'm very happy with the Ortofon which was recommended by Obi and Stereo Buff. Puts most CDs to shame.
Now if only my Jolida phono amp would show up, I could actually use my turntable again. Maybe later on this week...

Jolida JD9 Tube Phono Stage finally showed.
It's now in the Cubbyhole of Death so I can use my turntable again - this is just a quick shot when I unpacked it and set it on some styrofoam from the box.
Needs better tubes, I'm sure, which I'll take care of shortly.
