Well gang, I took the advise of selling the 901's(on Craigslist).......but had little or no interest (big surprise huh?) So on a whim, I emailed a fellow selling a pair of Klipsch RF-3 on Craigslist as well and proposed a trade. To my surprise He emailed back and said, let's give it a shot. Long story short....I"m now the proud owner of a pair of Klipsch RF-3's. I turned my $35 investment into quite a gain huh?

I have a pair of F-1 Kipsch. R series not available here. Very happy with them though. treble is sweet and juicy like these nutz. and so detailed.

How do the baffles attach? Mine are junk. They are flimsy and don't attach properly. Seems to me that they didn't design or test this part properly.

OK, I'm with you now. I guess flimsy as well........no grills/covers came with the traded. They were damaged or broke so he tossed them. It didn't matter to me.....as good as the RF series looks with the grills off, I wouldn't use them anyway.

I like to use mine with the grill off also, but my better half has the last word and grills go back on when she is in the house

Too funny......my better half complained about the lack of grills. I told her, "Now you know what to get me for Xmas". Women......whatcha gonna do.....I've been married for 21 yrs and I still can't figure her out.

Brit, the baffles are the actual panel that the speakers are mounted to, so they are usually an integral part of the enclosure. Grilles are the (usually) removable part that cover the baffles.

Okay, my new toys showed up this past week. I ended up breaking down and got a Ortofon Super OM10 for the Dual TT, which is much better than the 20 year old setup I had. I can notice the difference. I am sure it is partially due to the needle being newer, but also, much better electronics technology than my older, crappy unit. I will eventually splurge and look at getting the OM30 stylus at some point, but that can wait.

The other item, which I am kind of stoked about is a BSR EQ-3000. The unit was unused, never been out of the box it appeared. It also came with the original interconnect cables (in their original packaging, and I can't even believe it, the original electret mic. Still in its wrapper also. The guy stated it didn't come with the mic, but when I opened the box, I saw it there in the side of the foam packaging. Talk about a bonus. It would have sold for a heck of a lot more if he stated it had the mic. I haven't played with the mic yet. Saving that for one night later this week.

On that note, I have made a discovery that maybe some of you technical guys can chime in about. When I hook up the unit through the tape deck loop, the spectrum analyzer works fine. However, when I hook it through the Pre-outs on my HR772, the analyzer doesn't work. You can adjust the frequency bands, and notice the difference, but the analyzer display doesn't show anything? (I don't want to hook up this way as I have no way to control the volume for the pink noise generator as it is after the volume control for the pre-amp section of the receiver). Just curious as to why this might be.

It should work either way. I have this exact unit (bought new from DAK), but have only had it in the processor loop of a C-4000.
