Re: 1st post by Newbie: current system

Thanks Guys. Yeah, I do drive my wife crazy as I am sure some of you do. In addition, the Carvers and Legacy's do not hide themselves very well except when singing. I regret putting in volume controls in each room. Everytime she enters a room, the volume control goes counterclockwise if you know what I mean. Although I love my audio, not real computer literate. When someone gets a chance, tell me how to post pictures in layman terms and I will try and get them up in the next day or two.

Re: 1st post by Newbie: current system

Welcome Don,
Philosphical question: would you trade your entire "fleet" of systems (and have to start from scratch) for a wife that was 100% onboard with your musical passions (e.g., never tell you your music was "too loud" and turn it down, etc.)??
Part II: same trade, but this time you keep your current wife; she is just changed to be 100% onboard with your musical passions. :-k
Family room: 400 disk changer with PS Audio Digital Link III DAC; Technics SL-1100A TT. QED Quenx1 IC's from DAC & TT to Adcom GTP-602 preamp/Tuner. AudioQuest King Cobra IC's from preamp to M1.0t mk-II opt2. QED Silver Spirals 4M wires to EPI 1000’s.
Living room: AudioQuest Black Mamba 8M IC's from family room preamp to Barcus-Berry 2002R Sonic Maximizer to GlowPower Zyxt IC's to Sunfire 300x2 to Nordost 6M bi-source wires to AOS 28" MDF spherical speakers using six 8" woofers and eight 1" dome tweeters symm. arranged around the surface.
SS system: CX-995V DVD to AV-705x 5 channel amp (center/rears) & M1.0t mk-II opt2(fronts).
Garage: TLM-3600 CDP to MXR150 Receiver (pre) to TFM-42 to EPI 400 speakers.

Elgrau,

I am going to have to plead the 5th on that one. However, this thought immediately comes to mind "If Momma ain't happy, no one is."

Welcome Don!

Your last quote shows me that you understand woman better than 90% of men. I feel the same. You might want to try my approach which is "but honey, amps & speakers are like shoes & bags" Works for me!

"So you´ll be selling your current one then?" Noooooo.

I can come back with "so you´ll be throwing out those other shoes honey?"
