PDRs New Rack

Just put together a new rack.
I've been looking for something for quite a while, I stumbled on this at Home Depot.
It's not a audio rack at all, what it is is part of a closet organizer.
When I bought it, figured that if it didn't turn out I could always use it as a....Closet Organizer
It has nice strong aluminum struts and will adjust to any size. The struts were about 7' high so I
cut them down to the length I needed. The shelves are on the cheap side but I am going to replace them with
solid 1" something, maybe maple or oak. I knew it was only temp thats why the wires are all crazy behind.
On top is my new Raysonic 128 CDPlayer, my Sunfire gear is center.
I have a new Tube amp coming (Grant Fidelity A-88) that and the Raysonic will be in my 2 ch system upstairs,
I'm looking for a Diy point source, I'm considering OB's....Perhaps GR Research OB-7s
My sunfires will be used for HT and when I feel like cranking up the tunes, they really make my large arrays sing
It's some of the cleanest sound I've personally ever heard, even at high spl.

The cups on the feet and wall brackets turn aside and each has 3 holes for fastening, so it is screwed to the floor and wall.
If you look closely at the side of the rails you will see a slot, each rail has two, one on either side. Small metal inserts slide down these slots and the shelving brackets fasten and tighten, much like the "unistrut" system I've seen electricians use.. The Closet organizer was to have a clothes hanger rail on both sides to keep it from pitching from side to side. After my free standing Rack was together, it did have about 1/2" movement so I put a 3rd point of contact to the wall with a small bracket under the top shelf. I caught my 12yr old daughter leaning on it the other day putting her slippers on , after a ROAR that reminded me of a wounded Tiger, I went and checked it and it is still as solid as I put it up
Toymaker, I put it up a couple of weeks ago, in the last couple of years my brain has started to leak and I can't remember what the brand name was. I'm up in camp right now, so I can't even go to home depot to check. I phoned my wife but the box is gone...... maybe someone else can find it......unless it is only available in Canada.

That rack idea rocks. It has a nice clean look to it which I like. I would deffinatly replace the shelves with solid cherry or red oak. That would add a nice touch to the setup. Nice looking rack of gear though!

Nice setup PDR, How stable is the rack? I was thinking of do some thing similar to that, what would look neat would be glass shelves in that rack. Just a thought.

Nice rack PDR, I might head over to Home depot to check if they have it.
