I dont know why but i am nuts for carver. I think its because i always wanted carver and now its obtainable and i enjoy it so much. I got the c4000 from western canada today from canuck audio . that means 2 preamp , 2 amp, 1 tuner , what about that carver cd player any good

What Carver CD player? -- yes, the S/DA 390t and 490t deserve huge accolades because of the tube output and their excellent sound, clarity, soundstage, and the Soft EQ feature to tame down some early digital recordings, making the players produce sound closer to vinyl in many listeners' minds. (I have both models -- in duplicate -- it's true, Obsessive Carver Collecting Disorder - OCCD - is for real!)

Welcome Topcat from Las Vegas. It seems that you have already been infected by OCCD. There is no cure except to gather more Carver equipment.

I went to Vagas about 4 times last year and its a long haul from toronto and a lot warmer. i am going to stay near to home for the next few months and create the perfect environment for a carver fanatic . lots of carver components . I see a carver reciever on canuck audio today an 885.1 or something for 350 , but i think i will stick to seperate components or maybe.................

Topcat, I'd stay away from the Chinese built Carvers which have nothing to do with the legendary Bob Carver disigned products that the board of directors put into production after ousting Bob from the company and are widely reputed to responsible for Carver going out of business. Just my opinion but I'm sure that you will find that the majority of members on here agree with me on this one.
