Just wanted to get something in the gallery for now, I will post the rest of my stuff soon. And also try to get them to fit better. Someone asked if it was China built...yes it was. Also, the mk2 sticker on the back there, does that have any significance? Found a home for it as a 2 channel in the office w/Polk M30's.

Just thought I would update the post with a couple of pics of what I've had for the last couple of years. I don't really care much for the fireplace, as I have a nice black and silver TV/component stand stashed in the garage that really complimented everything very well. But this works for now. Don't laugh, I do intend on adding some Carver gear in there very, very soon. Thanx for the compliments on the 880. Caught a fever from that piece...

oops. was gonna list my gear as well...Integra 6.4, Integra DPS 5.5, Integra CDC 3.4, Sylvania 42" plasma, Carver HTR-880, NAD 2600pe, Polk Audio RTi 10, M30,CSi3,PSW350,R15...various pieces of electrified plastic by Kenwood, Technics, JVC, Sony....Boston Acoustic,Alpine, R.Fosgate gettin' cold out in the driveway...etc,etc, blah blah...

That's because cable companies don't make receivers. Nearly all US digital cable systems fall into one of two platforms: Motorola (General Instrument) or Cisco (Scientific Atlanta) Each has it's advantages with my personal preference being the Motorola platform. Big cable operators (MSO's) would like nothing more than to get out of the box business all together but there really are no good alternatives to signal security. Digital has yet to be hacked despite all the shysters selling boxes purported to "get all pay channels for free." Attempts to sidestep converter boxes were made with Cable Card technology but even that falls far short of the experience found when using a digital converter. TV manufacturers don't seem to be including a card slot any longer which speaks volumes about it's uptake in the market. Most of the problem was in the firmware each TV model had to have which made card functionality a dicey prospect at times. The dual tuner TIVO's were the worst, IMHO.
