New addition to System

I am the proud owner of this NEW digital converter box!! Would I even need this if I had a LCD TV? (wife asked) Hell no! but oh no, can't buy a new TV, so here you go! My new RCA converter fucking box!! To go along with our outside analog antenna! LOL!

I would love to get rid of my cable but I need high speed internet for work and I like FSN and Verses for Pen's hockey.

Yes, high speed internet would be an added bonus for sure, still using land line DSL.

I think I'd go out and put up an antenna is my cable, high speed internet and phone weren't all bundled together. You can even get HD stations over the air, and I understand the quality is better than over cable because they have more bandwidth to play with.

Lot's of great "free" digital stations out here: one from Mexico (shows beheadings, dead, decomposed bodies, etc.). "True TV" or somesuch! Channel 62

yeah, here in southern Oregon, I get three channels! Wow! will go to satellite or cable someday, just not now.

Digital conversion....how novel! I guess if you can do w/o the cost of the frills more power to ya!!!

For those of us who are fortunate to live in the areas with good number of channels, OTA HD is quite amazing. My parents pick up over 30 channels, most of those are in HD (720p/1080i image with 5.1 sound). The picture quality is better than cable/satellite due to lower compression.

People on the other end of town are able to pick up another receiver in addition to 3 that we pick up, so they have like 40 free channels.

I'm still running good old C-Band satellite, cheapest and you can't beat the quality of video.
