Corrected- great sample of Jerry "Hot Rod" Deminks music!

Here is the correct sample of music by Jerry "Hot Rod" DeMink! The first sample was a mix up on my part and is none the less an extremely well written and original song from Jerry it was just not the one I had intended for everyone to sample. Toymaker removed the other link from the CD discount thread and we decided to put it here so everyone would note the change and take a listen.
This song is the one I had wanted everyone to be able to audition on their own gear for a few reasons. This song shows how much talent and love he puts into his music because not only did Jerry play the guitar portions, but he also played the rest of the instruments himself including the hammond organ! He also produced this track like most of his music so he can make sure it is recorded the way he wants it recorded.
This is also a good example for my fellow forum members to get a preview of some of the talent that you will find on any of the 3 cd's he has offered up to all of us on the forum!
And last, but not least... for those of you who will be attending Carverfest "09" you can get a little teaser of what to look forward to when Jerry plays for us! 8) Enjoy, and be sure to let Jerry as well as myself know what you think!

Right click on the link, and click: Save Target As - This is a lossless wav. file, and it's pretty big.

gdb, you most certainly did not get the wrong tune. You are correct in identifying who originally wrote it. Jerry really liked the song and wanted to do his version of it on one of his albums. As I think I mentioned when Jerry did his version of this song he did not mess around. He played and mixed together every instrument himself in the process of making his version of this song truly his version. This was one of the reasons why I wanted to have this as a sample for everyone. It truly shows how talented Jerry really is! After all you thought it was really Santana, so now that you know it was played and recorded by Jerry what do you think?

Re: Corrected- great sample of Jerry "Hot Rod" Deminks music!

RM, I didn't mistake it for Carlos, I said it "sounded like his music". I found the recording to be of a high/professional grade.(not really a Santana fan) When hearing musicians that are "new" to me, I much prefer to hear their own original compositions to get a "feel" for them. From your friends name, I expected (maybe wrongly) some boisterous Rockabilly type of music, which happens to be one of my favorites. No offense intended! #-o

Re: Corrected- great sample of Jerry "Hot Rod" Deminks music!

None taken.. 8) You are absolutely right in what you were expecting to hear from Jerry! He is a rockabilly specialist! He plays his guitar while it is on fire and also plays standing on his head at times. He plays a great deal of that type of music and 2 of his cd's are done almost entirely in that style. Since you enjoy the style I am quite sure you will really like "Hot Rod's" CD's as well as hearing him in person.
I elected to use that song as a sampler simply because Jerry did the entire song himself from playing all the instruments to mixing them, and lastly the production. The other reason was that particular song in "my opinion" was more likely to be enjoyed as a first impression by the majority of our forum members. Jerry is very diverse in what he can and does play. He plays everything from Rockabilly, Jazz, Blues, right on up through things that Joe Satriani might play. I hope this helps clarify things for you and I also hope I didn't mislead you, but simply should have given a more detailed description on what Jerry's sound is all about. Sincerely,

Rainman 8)
