WAAAAAY too subject to vibration. It will be like a guitar string.

You need the heaviest base you can find. Perfection would be a 1/2 ton chunk of granite to sit it on. it needs to have an unmovable base to stop vibrations.

Mike,

One of the most effective DIY mounting methods goes like this....

You run lag bolts into the studs of a load bearing wall to support strong L brackets. On that you attach a wooden box, about 3-4 inches deep and a little bigger than the TT, filled with sand. On the sand you place a platform which doesn't quite touch the edges of the box, only "floats" on the sand. Then set your TT on that.

Very effective!

Mark, I've never done this, but have seen this somewhere before. I thought at the time I read about this method it sounded like a great way to isolate your TT. Some day, I'll get around to making one and see how well it does.
