My ears are the only proof I need.

I think this dude who knows absolutely "nothing" about audio said it best.....

"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not". -- Nelson Pass

Ask Bob what he thinks of him....then get back to us. Until then? :-#

I sure as hell don't need the Audio DiffMaker to tell me that my $1000.00 power cords make the recorded music sound closer to live music. I'm also sure as hell that anyone who has heard my rig would agree.

Very interesting. I can see this as a valuable tool.....but it won't measure depth, imaging, or a host of other aspects. It's not the be all/end all.

It would be reasonable to believe that if an added componet to a system made an "obvious" difference in sound, good or bad, it should be measurable. I believe that quality products are going to produce higher quality sound over cheap crap but I also believe that if this program really works, it should show the difference. After all, if you can hear a difference, then there must be a difference, right?

I got that download quick. It looks like fun and may be priceless. I don't think I ever had Tom's ear quality. My perception has improved as I learned what to listen for. I just like to play music too loud, but this might help me better my systems for when yall visit. =D>

Being past 40, my ears could be in decline. Even if they are still sharp (which I believe they are) any new tool is fun to have. The only people who fight against enlightenment at any level have a denial problem as they feel threatened. This thing might be a joke, but it is just the first of many better ones that will soon show up.

I can see how this could piss me off if I replace something (say a $50 dollar power cord with a $1000 one) and see no change, or not enough to justify a "different" sound. I might have enjoyed spending the difference on many bottles of beer or a hooker, but all here know that is just me

.....or is it? :-"
