Original Amazings Crossover..... will they BLOW?

Does anyone know how much power you can run through the Originals crossover before something POPS ??
and....
What will, or should cook 1st ??
What can you do to them to BEEF them up, to handle MORE power ??

Thinking about trying something I probably shouldn't... and want to know what's going to blow up 1st.

How much power can you put into 48" ribbons w/o blowing them????

Well, I'm looking at the schematic, and it appears that there are a couple things that could blow. C1 is the most likely, because it will see everything. It is an 85µF 100V non-polar cap. While the crossovers are quite different, when you get to the plats, all those early caps were upped to 150V. I'd go up to 150V for C1 and C4.

Likewise R1 is a 50W resistor and R6 is only 20W. R1 (0.5Ω) is probably implemented by a pair of 1Ω, 25W resistors in parallel. I'd probably make them each 50W. R6 is only a 20W (45Ω) resistor. I'd make that a 50W resistor. Probably a pair of 90Ω 25W resistors in parallel would do the job well.

Speaking of C1, you might think of changing that to something like THIS.

Bill is definitely on the right track, caps and resistors.

Mills makes 50 watt resistors that need to be attached to a heatsink. High end caps can be purchased with ratings up to 1200V with 200V, 400V even 600V being fairly common.

I used a set of AL-III+ crossovers on the AL-VI's... Everything held up just fine at CarverFest. We were running them with a set of Silver-7's
I was worried about the fact that the subs can take 500w's alone. I was wondering what would blow 1st.
