Re: WTB: Sunfire Cinema series 7 channel

Here are a few from used to new. A couple 200x7. A used 200x5 and of course a new 400~7 but I seen the same one on ebay for a few hundred dollars cheaper and free shipping.

Happy hunting

I've got preference to a 400wpc @ 8Ω model but if the right amp comes along, well like I said I'm getting impatient.

Thanks for lookin,

Chris.

! was looking for a Sunfire Grand Cinema Signature 7 (400x7) but there are hard to find.
I had to settle for a Sunfire Grand Cinema Signature 5 (400x5)

It took me over 2 months to find one.

Good luck on your hunting.

They do come around, but you almost have to check daily on the offering sites. They go fast within 1 and 2 days at most. All I can say is be patient. If you are a member of AudioGon you can submit a request in the WTB (want to buy) section. This might help if someone has one for sale and sees your WTB request. Good luck

So Brian if you sold the ribbons you got what are you going to do with the crossover you have? I could take that off your hands! Eddie!

Since these are hard to come by and takes patience to acquire, what would be a good alternative in the meantime? If we can't find a 5400, 7400, or the equivalents, what are our options out there? Having a 400wpc amp sure sounds sweet but when looking for a 5 or 7 channel amp that can compare... I just don't see them but I don't possess the knowledge of most of you on here. A lot of the amps I see are around 200wpc or less. I'm sure that would be suffice for most people but give me the power. Jesse had posted a small lists of amps not too long ago but I thought we were talking just 2 channel amps to push the Plats. I will have to go back and look.

Now......your take on this. The Sunfire TGA 7401. Is that something to stay away from? I know I have read some posts that certain Sunfire models are better left alone. Are they still using Bob's design or have they tweaked it and it just doesn't compare to the older models?

Thanks

Re: WTB: Sunfire Cinema series 7 channel

There is a general concern that when the manufacturing went to China, the quality of the models MAY have gone down. Nothing concrete to hang that on just yet. Also, the older models are a LOT cheaper than a new one, and we're a bunch of cheapskates~

Outlaw Audio makes some EXCELLENT values in multi channel amplifiers.

Re: WTB: Sunfire Cinema series 7 channel

I have a Sunfire TGP III made here & a Sunfire TG5400 a newer model (squared off with no meter) I think made in China.

I have had no problems with either of them.

I bought the TGP III for $1300.00 3 years ago this coming January. It had been serviced by Sunfire & was "in the box" since. It carried the factory warranty.

I got the 5400 about 2 years ago NIB for $1800.00. It has worked perfectly since.

Just to give some info.

Frank.

This is the one I asked about on the thread "Does this seem odd?"

Just don't know if this guy is on the up and up. I wouldn't mind that amp though but who wouldn't right?

Report it; that is directly against ebay policy.

That was fast!!

What I don't get is that he had a pretty rating with a decent amount of sales. So he should know the rules. Why don't they just delete his account if he keeps violating the rules? They should be able to keep track of it

Most likely a fraud posting. Someone might have stolen the good sellers account and posted the Sunfire amp.
