Carver AL-III's, and a Carver m-500t
I'm a "Newbie"?? Hurumph! Is O'tay:)
Amplifier - I have a Carver m-500t available. It was gone over and passed all original factory specs. Meter lamps, etc. all good. Cosmetically I'd rate it at an 8.5 out of 10 just because of some small surface scratches on the side. Face plate is near perfect.
First $250, plus shipping.
I also have a set of the golden oak AL-III's, not the so called "plus" version.I always thought this was funny since with the Silvers and the Platinum's, the MKIV version had the 3 tone controls which the earlier versions did not. While in the III's, the early version had the 3 tone controls, and the "plus" version did not. IMO, the controls are essential to optimize the sound to your room, and the ancillary sonic signatures of the rest of the system. This is a stock set, with good ribbons, woofers and cosmetics. I also have my modified set, with maggie true ribbon super tweeters and Infinity subs which I'm not selling at this time. Beemers has seen and those...
I'll sell the AL-III's for $575! I just don't have the room for them with 30 or 40 other speakers here, so need them gone ASAP.
Obviously, pickup would be ideal. I'm in NE Ohio. I am also willing to meet within a 2 hour drive for the cost of gas. We'd need a perfect weather day for that. Lastly, they CAN be shipped. In that case, I'd separate the ribbon wings from the woofer boxes, and ship in 4 cartons. Shipping cost would at least be reasonable this way. Upon receipt, you'd have to reassemble the wings to the woofer boxes, and resolder the red and black wires. The wing cartons would have to be constructed by me, and we'd have to hope that the gorilla's didn't jump on them to hard... Whew!
