Re: WOOFER POSSIBILITIES?

Are you talking about the Silvers?

The crossover would have to changed, at a MINIMUM.

Re: WOOFER POSSIBILITIES?

Well, I'd certainly drive them directly without an internal crossover (use an active or you will, as Gary said, need to change the crossover, because the load will be different). Nominal resistance of 2.67Ω is pretty low when it is in the power band (down low).
It should sound like it isn't there!

Re: WOOFER POSSIBILITIES?

Thank you for the input. What about new crossovers? I still want the ribbons I rebuilt to be incorporated. Kinda simple situation but with Carver thats only a starting point! Help if you can...

Re: WOOFER POSSIBILITIES?

Thanks for the reply. I acquired some Silver's a while back and the woofers are toast. One of the ribbons was damaged i.e. magnets detached and ripped right though the kapton/alu membrane. Rebuilt complete with Dave's help ~ Thank you Dave!! Anyway, have a old Rane 3 way x-over stereo but have to get an acceptable low end going. Bass bins are gone - used to be play music. Looking for waf for the subs I suppose and suggested crossover points if my Rane is to be used. Other than that just trying to enjoy the music!
