A very special set of Carver AL-III's for sale/trade
These are DRAMATICALLY BETTER IN THE EXTREME HIGHS then stock. They have Magnepan true ribbons flanking the carver ribbons in very nearly matched oak add-on panels. My camera is an old digital, so the pictures are not very good. The Magnepan ribbons are from MG-2.6's, and use a simple passive crossover at roughly 14khz. I can not tell you how much better these sound then stock. It's night and day, literally. They also sound significantly better then most Magnepans up to perhaps the MG-20's. The carver ribbons are in super condition with no wrinkles in the foil other then the factory corrugations. The woofers have been professionally refoamed, and sound as the should. The speakers have few flaws. The add on ribbons work especially well on these because they are the AL-III, and have the frequency contour controls to dial in the best response to blend the two ribbons seamlessly.
I simply do not have the room to get the best sound from them. So, I am offering them to carver forum members who I thought might appreciate them more then some knuckle head from craigslist who wants them just to "Hit Hard, and POUND", etc.
I'll sell them with the true ribbon super tweeters for $850, or without for $600. I have the ribbon protectors for the Magnepan ribbons BTW.
I'm in Northeast Ohio and shipping is out of the question. I am willing to drive several hours one way to meet up or deliver.
I'd also trade for a LN Sunfire 300 X II amp, or similar Lightstar, etc. I have no use for the 5 channel amps.

Thanks for the venue to post!
**Guys - it looks like I'll be holding onto these for a few weeks until Beemers can pick them up. He's been here before, he knows the way.
If it turns out he can't do so for some reason, I'll re post then.
As always, thanks for the venue to post!**

Seriously, those are nice looking speakers. Hope you sell them soon.
Good luck with your sale!!!
