Carver Amazing Original

I have too many speakers!!! Up for sale, the Amazing Original's. all 8 woofers foam are in great shape. When I got the speakers 3 years ago, 2 of the woofers had a pop to them when pushed hard. They were both replaced with new ones from Dynavox. They are the exact honeycomb replacements. This will come with 1 extra woofer un-used. I got an extra one when I replaced the others just in case.

The only issue with them is one ribbon on the left speaker is silver and one is gold. They were like this when I got them.
I paied $700 for them and drove 450 miles to get them. + i also put 2 new woofers in them.

I am not looking to make anything off of them. I would like to get 700 for them.

I live in Bolingbrook IL or zip code 60440.

Here is a pic of the left with the 2 different color ribbons

IMO, to find a set will take a drive. This guy drove 450 miles to get his set. There are others on this forum who have driven further to get their set.
Some cool Carver stuff!

Re: Carver Amazing Original

I understand about the distance. I drove from IL to MLPS to get them. But then again i drove from here to Indianoplis to grab my Polk SDA 1.2 and Vandersteen 3 signatures.. LOL. The do sound great, hard to drive but, they do sound great.

I drive them with a sunfire Sig II 625x2. I just have way too many speakers and I am selling some since I am out of room!! A set od SDA will be next. Just debating to keep the 1.2's or the 2.3's lol

Sometimes a shorter drive for those who live in Carver's neck of the woods.

I drove 3 blocks for my Amazing Originals, purchased from a neighbor who worked at Carver Corp. :)

Re: Carver Amazing Original

Wow not what i was hoping to hear but i guess when your trying to get a packaged system that rocks and has ribbons and dipole bass there is clearly only one choice. I have tried to get ahold of the guy in dallas who has a set but so far no response yet from him. i am in the dallas area and was hoping to stay local. I am thinking of actually driving out to AZ for that pair but its 13 hours away!

Re: Carver Amazing Original

I currently have a pair of silvers however would it be wise to get a pair of these or try and find a pair of platinums? I guess I'm not 100% sure what the difference between the originals and platinums are and how much better either pair would be over the silvers...

That depends on a number of things:

-Your budget
-What you are or will be driving them with
-Size of your room
-How big a speaker you can get the significant other to allow in the house :D
-If you're happy with the Silvers

What you are or will be driving them with..

I agree with that one 10000000000 % LOl the originals are not easy to drive. The plats and silvers can be driven easier.

I still have them for sale if anyone is interested. IL / NWI area. I also have a ESU unit that I would like to put as a package for a little more. I also have a bbe processor that works well with the amazing.
