need advice on amps to drive AL IV platinum

looking for input on best amps to drive the amazings...currently using m-1.5t with c-1...i understand that this combo will not bring out the best in the speakers...i would like to keep the cost under a g-note...any suggestions will be appreciated.

For your budget I suggest a Sunfire Symphonic Reference amp at 250 watts at 8R, or a 300x2 if you can get it for the price you want. I've never priced a 300x2 but they do come up for sale fairly regularly. The Symphonic Reference amp comes up a little less frequently, but they can be had for much less. Buy as many watts as you can get, generally, but a Sunfire is always a good choice because of it's ability to deliver goo-gobs of current when called upon.

One can easily see the wonderfulness that is Bob Carver by looking at this beauty & realizing that you can get a Sunfire amp that will equal or surpass this for so much less money!

I drive my amazings with a Sunfire 5400 @ 400 wpc (8 ohm) & they sing like you wouldn't believe.

I suggest a Sunfire !!

I know the BAT is kinda out there,, Ted (Polkfest 07 host) had a pair of Mk IV Plats that he drove with the BAT--oh mama I suppose the Sunfire is more down to earth,and very good advice to the OP.

I've got *two* Denon POA 2400 amps (2x200wcp@8 ea) and a Clearview active crossover for sale that seems to work nicely in a bi-amp configuration. See the thread over.

Trust me, I went up the "amp ladder" with my Amazing sand know that with them the bigger the better. Pour all the juice you can find to them they will thank you for it.

However, if your Plats have the dual binding posts, if you can find a 200x5 Sunfire, you could bi-amp with that amp & have more overall horsepower....

The 200x5 can be found for under $1000 pretty easily as well~

many thanks to all...very helpful...now if i could only find a 300 x 2 ( just saw one go for 660...wish i would have known about the one that just went for under 6)...are there any dealers in the atlanta area where i could hear the 5400? i know i wouldn`t be able to touch one of those for under a g-note, yet if it`s all of what i`ve been reading, i may go that way if the price is right.
