need advice on amps to drive AL IV platinum

Silver-7t's or 9t's are the way to go.

Anything less, and you'll wish you had waited

OK I half to ask! I have had every Carver amp made but never a 7 or 9t and Sunfire's blow them away -all the older Carver amp's 1.0, M-500t, 1.5t, etc. Not in power but in sound will the 7 & 9t sound better then Sunfire 5x200 5x405 ??? My Platinums just rocked bi-amp to my Sunfire 5x405 (CAN 7 or 9t's MATCH THAT IN SOUND?) Not that I care cause I am going all tube and hopefully a cherry 180 but I just wanted to know what I have missed...

eh,, not really an answer,,but I would take the tubes over any of the ss amps that you mentioned in your specific application.just my .02

i didn`t realize the sunfire`s were so hard to come by...found a tga-5400 new in box for 880.00...only problem is... it`s in " the land down under "...they won`t sell outside of AU...so if any of you lucky members know someone there...it can be seen at : ozfreeonline.com

I agree with DaveS, 7t's or 9t's are thew way to go.
