Looking to buy a remote for my CT-17

Through the many moves I made I have lost my remote to the CT-17 While not critical it would be nice to have. Where can I purchase one?

I started my Carver purchase back in 1990. The stereo matched with a good pair of speakers I think is still unbeatable. I have 'upgraded' to Rotel, but still love my Carver equipment.

I use the CT-17 with my TV. It gets little air time around here because all want the tubes.
I like mine. It can do 5.1 and a lot more. You really can't set it up with out the remote though.

If Beemer can't help, I have a site on a computer in the house that did have some. I'll PM you when I am back inside.

...I think the price is way high considering the CT-17 is a complicated animal at best and getting on in years, it will probably need repair soon and practically no one will work on it. I have 1, sold 1 and the only reason I keep the one I have is OCCD!!!! Get you a decent C-1 or C-11. Less problamatic and easier to fix if it goes bad. Several on ebay as we speak, 1 practically new in the box for $225!

I guess the 17 is complicated if you can't read.
Otherwise, many hook up things are built in.
The remote makes the thing sing out as to speaker adjustment just like the new high end stuff.

If I can work it, any normal audio nut can.

I bet it makes your Lightstar Pre look like a Flintstone thing.

I would never call a guy with your credentials out like this, but I know the new guy from Texas will post back and take my back.

...I assure you I can read and the CT-17 is a BITCH to repair...refer back to many posts on the forum from people with these. Great pre's if they work...

Love the lively discussion and good options. I have been pleased with Carvers CT-17, TFM-25, and Polk LS-90s. Great crisp loud music with a punch - is that the slew rate? I have plenty of equipment in my house and hate to throw things away - especially electronics. I think buying a replacement for $40 is a good option me. That will solve the issue of walking 10 feet to hit the mute button when a phone call comes in.


Oh yeah, the TFM-25 and SD/A-360 have issues , more on that later.


By the way, I do have a Lexicon pre-amp looking for a trash can.

Post your issues with the SD/A-360 in a separate thread; I've fixed many issues with mine--nothing was too difficult~
