Carver Amazings Platinums Wanted

I posted this over at the Polk forum as that is where I mainly go but seeing this is the Carver Forum should post here as well.

I'm looking for some Platinum Amazings. From what I gather I would rather not get the originals due to the power needed to drive them ect.

I am looking around the midwest area. I'm located right in central WI and would be willing to travel. At this point if something pops up it would have to be easily done within a weekend as I don't have the time to make a long trip.

Not something I have to have right now but just if you know of anything that shows up in the states of MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, MI and even MO, KS, OH, let me know as I will see what I can do when they show up. I would also like something in decent shape (who doesn't?) so either refoamed, or no rot, and no buzzing if known.

I would like to get the ones in NJ but as posted too far right now. We are having a huge audit at work so its a no go for time off for awhile. Thats why I said just a weekend drive as anything more would be impossible.

I sold the ribbons out of mine to Skip. All I have left is the speaker and the drivers will need to refoamed or replaced. As of right now, they are spoken for. Doing some swapping at the fest

That's what imeant. I guess the simple way to say it is....I have those speakers minus the ribbon.s. the drivers are shot and they need new fabric.

so it would be a waste to throw them away right...i would cook you some nice dinner for em....

Hi, Im new here. Was looking around actually to see if anyone was looking to buy some Carver AL Platinums. I have some for sale and I live in Indianapolis, IN. My parents bought them in the late 80s when I was about 11. I am 34 now. I bought them from my parents almost 3 years ago. He also gave me the Marantz receiver and dynaco amp that he had with them as well. I will let those go as well with the speakers. I have an ad listed on Craigslist with photos in the Indianapolis section of 'electronics'.
