Great amps, the only differences between the 7 & 9 models are lighted meters (9t) and a slight bump (1 dB) in the lower bass region (9t). Otherwise, they are the same output. etc.

As Rabbit said, they don't have quite the bass output of the 9t, but they will have plenty to keep you happy paired with Plats. Also, if you want more bass, adjust the tone controls on your pre.

Thanks everyone for the replies. It's been 20 years since I seen, heard a Carver. Dave seems to have an excellent rep on this site and is very knowledgable..and he is 10 minutes from me! His Carvers are not the plats, but originals which I understand are amazing. Does anyone know what the difference is between orig and plats?

I esplained that to you, they are Originals with the Upgrade of 60 inch ribbon and the crossover to match them.
