Face plate for M-1.5t?

Hey forum, I am looking for a replacement face plate for an M-1.5t amp that I just picked up. The original owner had drilled some extra holes in the ends to accommodate the rack he was using, and another hole next to one of the rack handles for a power switch that he installed. Casing and rear still look fine, just the face looks horrible. Any help would be great.

I hate it when people do that to a fine looking amp. Have they never heard of shelving?

Just found a C-1 for sale which had been defaced in the same way, what a senseless waste!

Cutlass and puchalsk, your best bet would be to look for a broke dick amp/pre that someone wants to get rid of for cheap. To remake these face plates is entirely possible but it comes at a great expense unfortunately. To the both of you, congrat's on the new toys.

Yeh, treitz there was one on the bay that I just missed that had a decent plate but was broke down. Hopefully, with some patience I'll find one eventually.

The "black" C-1's actually came from the factory with slots cut in them for rack mounting. I always thought it was done by the owners until I read about it in the C-1 Owner's Manual.

Regardless, I think they look better sans slots.

Back then, rack mounting was all the rage, though, so it's not surprising to see them modified for that purpose.

What a shame these pieces of audio history were mutilated! My TX-12 also had an extra hole in it I guess for rack mounting.

At least the original owner threw it in a rack and let it sit and not beat it to hell making it worse than it is.
Anyway, just thought I would drop a pic or two as a confirmation that I really need a better faceplate for this thing. LOL!! (something to look at anyway) A C-9 came with it too. Similar cut-outs (not as bad).

oh, yeh I know kingman. Just imagine the night that guy actually withdrew the bong from his mouth and thought.." LET'S DRILL SOME HOLES"!!!! of all the things in his house, he decided on the freakin' amp! LOL, might have drawn a good laugh at the time, but what the fu@# was that guy thinkin?

Man people that do things like that should be remved from the gene pool. Like someone else said what's wrong with shelves.

May Darwin get them sooner than later.
