WTB TFM 15CB or 24/25 to run bridged on my center

Hi folks it's been awhile...

I was running a bridged Audiosource Amp/One A at 200w @ 8ohms on my Polk CS400i. It's going down for the count and since the rest of my gear is Carver 45/35 running SDAs, I thought I'd bridge a 15CB on my center. Any reasonable offers will be replied to.

Hold off on the TFM-15cb bridging idea. I am currently using that setup for all of my speakers which happen to be polk audio and am having issues with the amps. I will let you know what I find so you dont put yourself in same cituation as me.

I have a TFM 15CB bridged into my center on my HT for almost a year now with no issues.

Depending on how much you want to spend Beemers417 has an audio shop and I know he has both TFM 15CB's and TFM 22 through 25's.

I ran that Audiosource amp bridged for a couple of years w/o a problem. A CS400i, even running large, isn't a very heavy load, but it does respond to power. I doubt if I need more than a TFM15CB for similar duty. However, I'm not unwilling to moving up to a 24/25 or even 35 and running it on a single channel. IIRC, I talked to Rita a few years ago and she wasn't really a fan of the 6 or 15 revs...so maybe I should just skip it.

Ron, keep an eye on ebay for a M400/M400t.

They get no respect and go for little money (less than $200.00 sometimes). They are really excellent amps & powerful (500 watts bridged).

M-400's get a little sloppy bridged into 4 ohms. But, I agree with you. They are a great little amp. I'm running one for bass reinforcement in my family room driving a pair of AR-3a woofers (4 ohm, but in stereo). Only feeding it 90Hz down.

I did find out what was wrong with my setup. Occasionally my center speaker would dip low enough in ohm's and cause the 15cb to go into some sort of protection mode. I turn off amp and source, turn everything back on and it would be ok. I have since unbridged the amp and am now using left channel for highs and right channel for lows on the center. Kind of like between biwire and bi-amp. So far everything is ok. I had the amp recently serviced and they found nothing wrong.

If you are interested in a M400T I have one that I am not using. It is currently being fixed as it had an issue with one of the channels and amp would not emit any sound. If this becomes available it will either be in the for sale section or beemers417 may have it as I might be sending it to him.

Yellowneck, you're fortunate to have a center that you can decouple the highs from the lows. That vertical bi-amp on the center sounds nice, I'll bet.
