What are you going to next?

Pricing them to move means getting them between he 275 and the new 350s. Did Bob build them or Tubular Joe? Both of those things will help determine price. Do you expect to make some $$ or can you take a loss?

Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.

You'd need a pair of 275's to be somewhat equal to the Cherry 180 monoblocks. If you compare 2x275 running in parallel mono, to Cherry 180's it begs the question of which would be better (or more desirable), since the 275 will provide about 190W of output, and have some versatility; but the 180's probably have superior transformers.

2x275's would cost about $5500, new. Those of us who bought two of the CF version are not in need, so the market (within the forum circles) is a bit flat right now. Used sales of the 350's on eBay have yielded 6-7k for them in the past, so 180's would probably fall somewhere between 4-5.5k in resale value.

I will not be Replacing them and soon will have just a Sunfire 405 and 4K player for movies.
I can take some loss and is expected and prefer a long term carver fan to get these and someone who will love and enjoy them as I have.

Sorry to hear that. Maybe James could send your ribbon frames to Ed for repair and refund you if you've pre-paid.

I had "4" ribbons needing repair 2x48 & 2x60 I gave James the 60" in return for repaired 48" ribbons so I had 4 bad ribbons so if James can not repair and return the 2 48" ribbons I guess nothing changes... I would love to have them back working but I guess it can't be done so I will forget it. I will have him ship me a pair of ALS   I would even be happy with just the frames \:D/

Makes no sense, you have ALS-III's in need of ribbons, and the components are yours until he delivers on the deal. James should just send everything back (or to Ed) since he doesn't have ribbon material and can't seem to find a vendor. Maybe you could work out a similar deal with Ed or some other equipment trade if he's interested in something you are selling.

My valuation logic wasn't quite right. I just took a look on HifiShark and the most recent sale in late 2018 was on US Audiomart. Those were priced at $3500 asking price and had a new Genalex tube set. I don't know if it sold for the asking price or a bit less. My price information was in comparison to a pair of NEW 275's and used 350's but there is also the Crimson 305's that should be worth a bit less than the 350's but substantially more than the 180's.

The average -asking- price for the 180's that have sold and show up on the HifiShark search engine have been in the 3k-4k range.
