Interesting Silver-7 history info
I was talking to Bob the other day, and the Silver-7's came up.
He says, "Ya know, I came up with the design for the Silver-7's back when I started Phase Linear"
I asked him why it took him so long to build a set...
He said they just got pushed aside when Phase Linear started getting busy, and then Carver Corp came along, and took up even more of his time.
He said he had them started, but just never got the time to finish them (a hobby project)
I thought that was kind of weird.. today, I found this: http://www.audio-ideas.com/interview/carver.html
basically the same thing he said 14 years ago.
"BC: Building a big tube amplifier was a dream I had carried with me since my childhood, when I saw a big McIntosh in a window. I went to college, went into the service, got married, had children. When I finally got around to building my dream amplifier, it got rave reviews by guys like Bascom King and Harry Pearson. Those guys love tubes in the first place."
Makes you wonder how much better he would have been perceived by the audio world if he had built them back then 1st, and then came out with all the SS equipment.

Whatever you do in life will be insignificant, but it's very important that you do it 'cause nobody else will
