Anybody played with the tubes in their Baby Blacks or CF amps? What are your favorites? What speakers are you driving with them?

Yup, tried a few. Over all i like the sovtec ones . The bass was most impressive. I think i listened to some mullards as well as a few other flavors.

I am using some TAD tube amp docters per radioengineer,s advice, now that I have some time on them I like them, also have some cryo mullards that I have yet to try, running some vintage jbl4401 control monitors with my carverfest amp along with a dared tube pre :D

I have been having good luck with some 5751 tubes like GE 5 stars and Sylvania triple mica black plates. Especially on the low end sub amp. For the tweeters Im using Brimar or Mullard 12au7's. I learned from Chauss that the 12au7 can be sub'd for a 12ax7 which opens up alot of different possibilities.

I have tried Mullard 10M 12ax7, Sylvania triple mica black plate 5751 and Siemens 12ax7. On the power tube side I'm using EH el84's and I have my eye on Siemens (German made ) el84's

Speaking ofpower tubes I took them (EL84M sovtek) out and replaced with some 1963 Siemens E84L. They sound very nice with lots of detail, they are marked Sel Lorenz and the E84L handles more plate voltage than a EL84.

I tried some Telefunken's in the 12ax7 slot and they sounded terrible, I was really suprized because they sound good in the phono preamp.
