I was afraid we were going to have to send someone to pick Eric up off the floor. Eight hours to respond lol...

OK, just kidding....breathe Eric...breathe...

I think the Siemens have about 16 hours on them so far. I have the chinese 12AX7's in now and I switched out the Mullard 12AU7 on my pre amp so i can get a good flavor for the Siemens when they finish breaking in.

I was getting a little concerned on my 12AU7. It sounds glorious but I started to notice a flash when it starts up so I pulled it. Apparently that is normal for Mullard input tubes. I have a GE12AU7 in now...it's not the Mullard.

The wife found me passed out....computer screen was on your post.....she got me some oxygen...Im better now

I asked Bob why the euro tubes flash off last year at CF and he said something about less filament voltage...cant remember exact but he knew right off the bat what I was talking about.

Actually, the Mullard tube flash one didn't bother me once I figured out what it was. The one that did get my attention was the rectifier tube in my An Mono Block. Imagine an hour long lightning show condensed into the 3 or 4 seconds it took to flip the power off on it. That one freaked me out since it happened a couple times

For the purposes of testing I am using a pair of Snell K types. This amp really likes these speakers

So, I rolled the Sylvania 1957 5751's first. Very nice, very quiet with no tube noise. Really nice high end detail and nice sounding bass.

Next up was the Mullards . little occasional tube noise at idle, Kind of a softer bass and softer overall, Not as much high end detail

Have the Telefunkens in right now
