If I had the matching 'Silver Sevens' to run, I might be able to talk myself into it. I don't.

I tell you what I could get excited about, though. A limited production run of the Sunfire Classic Vacuum tube Control Center. I would pre-order one one without a moments hesitation. I'm about to give up and build a Tanscendent Grounded Grid Pre.

Sorry for being off topic.

Is this Pre-Amp two pieces?, if so, what does the part on the left do?

What does the meter show?

Thanks,

Yes, it's 2 seperate units the smaller unit on the left is the power supply, and the larger unit on the right is the preamp itself.

Here is a copy and paste from another thread on this unit.

Yeah, we had thought about a remote, and Bob advised against it. He said this preamp is WAY too high end to put a remote in it. I guess this preamp is similar to the Lightstar reference amplifier... No concerns for cost. As where the C-19 and Sunfire tube pre's were "production" units.

I mean, this was to be the matching Preamp to the Silver-7 amplifiers... THAT's pretty high end !!!

What is interesting, however, is that he had the board fab'd (with silkscreening and all). You'd think Bob could come up with the CAD on that, or tell you where it was done.
It should sound like it isn't there!

In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.

The best way to enjoy digital music reproduction is to never listen to a good analogue reproduction.

The 15 tube Silver 7 tube amps were orginally a $20K+ proposition and the Stretch 20 tube versions were supposed to be in the $25k range; I'm not sure that they could be reproduced for much under that today and certainly not in the $5 to $6k range.

For 5-6k you can get Bob's new amps...

To make Silver-7's and Silver-9's would be $30k + today easy.
